Get Whole Foods or Fresh and Easy to come to Mill
We need a grocery store for all the new urban dwellers to shop at.
We are working on recruiting a market, but without enough residents living in the downtown area, it can be hard…

Yes, it doesn't need to be a big box grocery store so common in American culture, a really good small euro-style market would be awesome. I really wish Mill had a Trader Joe's.

There's supposed to be a Whole Foods on the ground level at University and Ash but that building never broke ground because of budget stuff...

Rumor had it that "Fresh & Easy" was planned for Mill Avenue, unfortunately, it was not very walkable from downtown. Maybe they will reconsider their planned location now that the Borders space is available? It could be a small market. Think of the deli/markets in NYC. They are great little places to stock up on small grocery items, while grabbing something healthy to eat. As far as space goes..what about the buildings across from ZTejas? Or the empty Abercrombie Space, or even the office space behind abercrombie? Or maybe even the empty lot next to Jack in the Box?

Maybe Borders could be turned into a grocery store.

You are very right! It is just a matter of finding a retail space that is large enough for a grocery store....which is hard to find in an urban environment.
